When I think about my ultimate, dream item, I think Balmain blazer – as well as a locket of President Obama’s hair, but we’ll chat about that another time. The dream of professional, independent woman who can pay her taxes without the help of Mum and understands the stock market is all I’ve ever wanted to be, and this blazer is helping me fake it till’ I make it. What is evident here, is the jackets beautiful structure, quality and badass, boss-lady energy. What really sets Balmain apart is its quality and tailoring, something that is very often and very poorly emulated. Creating the desired Kimmy K-esque waist, bold shoulders and slimlined silhouette, there is not a lot this jacket won’t and can’t do for you.
My favourite and probably most unnoticeable detail of the item is the beautiful, Victorian-like button details, something that dictates the garments quality and feel. It’s not every day you stumble across a wardrobe item that can see you through life, so when you do I advise you to sell your left kidney or any other semi-valuable body parts on the black market and splurge. It’s the right thing to do – the stock market says so.
